The north face of Mont Blanc du Tacul, with Mont Maudit and Mont Blanc just visible on the skyline.

The photo was taken during the descent, by which time the path up to the Epaule had become fairly will trodden. When we'd climbed it in the dark 15 hours earlier the path through the fresh snow was only just being established.

The snow-covered ridge on the right of the picture is the Goûter ridge, with Les Bosses (the bumps) clearly visible. The Dome du Goûter is just off the picture.
